Which shoe do I choose?
Just as important as a racket that fits you, is a squash shoe that is right for you. If you go on court with a less suitable shoe, then the chance of ankle and knee injuries is greater and you will soon be off the court again.
If you have wide feet and/or a high instep, then a shoe from the brand Prince suitable. Possibly also the Victor A610III AB
Salming, Asics, Teuton are more suitable for squash players with a narrow or "normal" foot. Salming has a shoe in its range, the Recoil Kobra, which is extremely suitable for players with a weak ankle. This shoe is slightly higher and therefore fits better around your ankle.
Our best-selling shoes are those of the Salming brand. There are considerable price differences. For example, the Salming Rival in white or black the cheaper version for € 69.95 of the latest Recoil models. Eye shoes are just sturdy slippers and play very well for players who do not want more freedom with walking. Teuton is an unknown German brand. But, specifically developed for squash players. They fit very well with a lot of stability. According to Teuton they are also very good padel shoes.
By the way, not all indoor shoes are suitable for squash. Pay particular attention to non-slip soles and reinforcements on the side of the shoe. If these are not present, your (non-squash) shoes will wear out very quickly, unlike squash shoes that do have extra reinforcements.
The brands of shoes that we have in our assortment are of course and are all provided with, among other things, extra reinforcements at the front so that your shoe lasts longer. What is also important when choosing a shoe is the cushioning in the sole. This is often better in more expensive shoes, but can be supplemented in cheaper models with an additional cushioning insole from, for example, Victor.
Sports shoes with black soles are prohibited in most centres. This is because they leave marks on the wooden floor. The squash shoes with a black sole that we sell do not leave marks on the floor and can be used on the squash court without leaving marks.
The right size?
Measure your feet from your heel to the longest toe. Usually the big toe. This size in cm is also stated with most shoes. If your foot is 29 cm, then this is size 45 ⅓ for the Salming Recoil Ultra.
